Two things that have been driving me potty!
Living in France and have just swapped from terrestrial reception to satellite for French tv.
It's necessary to have either a TNT decoder & card or similar from Fransat, depending on which satellite you want.
Having opted for 5°W, I thought I needed a Fransat CAM & card for my Technomate 5402HD CI. Problem is Fransat have gone to to CI+, which apparently doesn't work in my box, which is just over 12 months old.
Does anyone know whether it is possible to get hold of an older CI CAM & card? They should work, as the cards are issued with no expiry.
Also, does anyone know whether a Fransat CI+ card will work with the CAM supplied with my Samsung 6 series UE48H6400 smart tv? The tv spec says it is CI+, but I don't know whether there is a level of 'Fransat' encryption that might scupper that. I propose to use a basic Strong HD box SRT 7004, which doesn't have a card slot of its own.
Thanks

I have a Samsung UE40F6500 UK model and it works perfectly with my Fransat Metronic CI+ CAM and card. It even sorts the channels in the right order. Providing your Samsung TV has a Satellite tuner, I see no reason why it would not work with yours.
You access the install process via the TVs CAM menu and it installs itself automatically providing you have and tell the TV you have, a satellite dish pointed at Eutelsat 5W. It just works...
I have a 4-way DiSeqc switch so can select 5w, 13E, 19.2E and 28E (Sky).. So can view any of the FTA channels on any of those satellites plus Fransat.
I don't think the Fransat card will work in anything except TVs with a CI+ slot, but maybe wrong...
Using a free to air satellite receiver and the CAM in the TV won't work, the satellite tuner must be in the TV - sorry.
